STMicroelectronics: Rémi El-Ouazzane Appointed CTO, Marco Cassis Becomes CSO
STMicroelectronics announced on October 29, 2026, a new organizational structure that expands the responsibilities of two members of its Executive Committee in research and development. It will take effect on January 1, 2027, the date from which the group will adjust its reportable segments.
Rémi El-Ouazzane Adds Image Sensors and Digital R&D
Rémi El-Ouazzane is confirmed as President, member of the Executive Committee, heading Microcontroller products, digital integrated circuits, radiofrequency products and optical communications. In addition to his current responsibilities, he will take over the image sensor sub-group and be appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ST.
In this capacity, he will lead R&D for digital and derived CMOS technologies (RF mixed signals, embedded flash, imaging), "advanced packaging and testing" and characterization. He will also oversee Research & System Applications globally and System Engineering.
According to the company, this evolution aims to strengthen coordination between product development, research and technologies, in order to drive innovation and accelerate time-to-market.
Marco Cassis, Future CSO, Takes On Analog, Power and MEMS R&D
Marco Cassis is confirmed as President, member of the Executive Committee, heading Analog products, discrete and power products and MEMS. He will also take over the leadership of R&D for these technologies, an evolution that aims, according to the group, to accelerate profitable growth of this product group.
His responsibilities heading ST's strategy remain unchanged and he will be appointed Chief Strategic Officer (CSO). He must align the group's vision and business objectives with evolving market dynamics, by identifying growth opportunities, partnerships and complementary acquisitions.
Jean-Marc Chéry, President of the Board of Management and Chief Executive Officer of ST, stated that "the responsibilities of the CTO and CSO are highly interdependent". The rest of the organization remains unchanged, and implementation must be finalized by the end of March 2027.
