Integration of Location Data into the Microsoft Ecosystem
TomTom, a specialist in location technology, announced on September 30, 2026 the expansion of its collaboration with Microsoft. The agreement enables connection of TomTom's location data to OneLake and makes it available to Azure and Fabric customers through the IQ Sharing functionality, currently in preview.
This integration aims to enable customers to use this data alongside their own data in OneLake, and then connect this enriched data to Microsoft Foundry.
Data Founded on Overture and Open Standards
According to the press release, TomTom's location solution is built on Overture and open standards, which enables interoperability with compatible open datasets and facilitates the combination of operational data with geographic context.
TomTom's location data is now available on Microsoft Marketplace and eligible for the Azure MACC program, allowing Microsoft customers to adopt it within the framework of their existing agreements.
Preview Demonstration Scheduled at FabCon Europe 2026 in Barcelona
TomTom will present a preview of IQ Sharing capabilities at FabCon Europe 2026 in Barcelona. The demonstration is intended to illustrate how location, ontology, and semantics can integrate real-world context into unified artificial intelligence experiences across Microsoft platforms.
