Transgene will present preclinical data on its PoxSTG-EEV virus at SITC
The Strasbourg-based biotech company indicated, in a press release published on October 5, 2026, that it will exhibit preclinical data on a chimeric oncolytic poxvirus designed for systemic administration. The program is upstream of its clinical assets and extends the group's research focus on a new generation of oncolytic viruses.
Presentation on November 7, 2026 at the Phoenix Congress
Transgene announced the presentation of a poster dedicated to PoxSTG-EEV, presented as an enveloped oncolytic virus, at the annual meeting of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). The congress will be held from November 4 to 8, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona.
The poster, entitled "PoxSTG-EEV: a Novel Enveloped Virion-Based Formulation of a Chimeric Oncolytic PoxVirus Adapted for Systemic Delivery", bears abstract number 1050 and will be presented on November 7, 2026. It is signed in particular by Johann Foloppe and Philippe Erbs, alongside six other authors.
The abstract will be posted on the SITC website on November 3, 2026, at 9 a.m. (Eastern Time).
A preclinical asset distinct from the Myvac and BT-001 programs
PoxSTG-EEV falls under the discovery and preclinical research work conducted by Transgene. It is distinct from the group's clinical assets: TG4050, the company's first individualized therapeutic vaccine resulting from the Myvac platform and the company's lead asset, TG4070, in Phase 1 in combination with nivolumab in non-small cell lung cancer, and BT-001, an oncolytic virus based on the Invir.IO platform and in clinical development.
The company leverages its expertise in viral vector engineering to design a new generation of multifunctional oncolytic viruses. In the disclaimers accompanying the press release, Transgene reminds that positive preclinical data may not be predictive of clinical results in humans.
