Valeo Secures Contract for Next-Generation Radars with North American Automaker
On Tuesday, Valeo secured a contract to supply its next-generation corner radars to a North American electric vehicle manufacturer. The system, aimed for L2+ and L3 autonomy levels, offers a resolution 50 times greater than previous generations.
Valeo will deploy its complete suite of corner radars, including sensors and embedded software, for the systems of the North American manufacturer. This generation of radar is designed to enable essential safety features: automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane keeping assistance (LKA), and safe exit protection (SEP). The platform is built on a modular architecture, allowing the manufacturer to customize configurations based on the level of autonomy deployed, from entry-level to level 3. The system also supports over-the-air updates to integrate future 'Eyes off' functions.
