Veolia Stock: Among the Strongest Gainers on the CAC 40, +5.5% in One Week
The environmental services group continues its recovery in a Paris market with a slight upward bias. The stock is gradually emerging from a difficult quarter, while the French budget debate keeps interest rates under pressure.
A Weekly Rebound That Places Veolia Above Its Short-Term Averages
The Veolia stock gains 1.62% to €32.61 in trading, among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, which advances 0.25%. The gain reaches 5.74% over seven days, but the quarter remains down 12.95%, which indicates the extent of the ground to be made up. The price stands above the 20-day moving average (€31.23, a +4.42% gap) and the 50-day moving average (€32.43), while the 200-day moving average at €33.66 remains 3.12% above the price: it is this level that the stock must reach to erase the medium-term decline.
This analysis is supported by momentum established over several days, as was the case during the October 13 session, when the stock was already among the best performers on the index. The RSI at 57 is neutral, showing no signs of excess.
Tension on French Interest Rates Remains the Session's Underlying Backdrop
The Paris market is evolving against the backdrop of the 2027 budget examination at the National Assembly, with a deficit target brought down to 5% of GDP. The 10-year OAT stands at 4.80% according to the Bank of France reading from October 14, or 10 basis points below the October 1st peak, and the spread with the Bund reaches 1.35 points. On the American side, September inflation at 3.7% fuels renewed speculation about a Fed rate hike.
The VIX volatility indicator gains 14.54% to 17.49. For Veolia, the next price targets are resistance at €37.53, far above, and support at €30.42.
