Vicat share rebounds nearly 2% and returns to its 50-day moving average
After a sharp decline the previous day under oil pressure, Vicat recovered on Thursday in a nearly stable SBF 120. The Isère-based cement manufacturer returned to its 50-day moving average, in a market dominated by the surge in Brent crude above 95 dollars per barrel.
A rebound that brings the share back to its 50-day moving average despite a difficult week
Vicat share gained 1.91% during the session at €64.00, erasing part of the decline of more than 3% recorded on Wednesday. This rebound brings the share back to contact with the 50-day moving average at €63.99, with a practically negligible gap of +0.02%. The 20-day moving average, however, remains above at €64.95, and the share is thus trading below this short-term reference with a gap of 1.46%.
Over the week, Vicat is still posting a decline of 3.47%, which tempers the scope of today's gains. The RSI at 43 remains in neutral territory, with no signal of selling exhaustion or overbought conditions, reflecting a technical configuration that remains fragile despite the rebound. The resistance to break through is located at €68.70, or approximately 7.3% above the current price, while the support at €59.80 provides a cushion of nearly 7% in case of further deterioration.
Brent above $95 remains a cost factor and Vicat has raised its annual targets
The geopolitical context continues to weigh in the background: the surge in oil, fueled by military escalation between Iran and the United States around the Strait of Hormuz, is keeping Brent at $95.40 per barrel on Thursday, up 5.43% during the session. For a cement manufacturer, energy cost is a structural variable: when publishing Q1 2026 results (May 4, 2026), Vicat had identified the prolongation of the Middle East conflict as the main risk, likely to affect energy costs. The group was then guiding toward moderate growth in revenue and EBITDA on a constant scope and exchange basis.
On the industrial front, the investment of nearly 7 million euros announced on September 2 with Derichebourg in an alternative fuel unit in Meuse illustrates the strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, a lever gaining importance in the current environment of high prices. Furthermore, according to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the share is trading around 9.6 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year and 8.6 times those for the following year, with earnings per share growth anticipated at +11.8% from one year to the next. The next milestone to watch on the technical levels remains whether or not the 20-day moving average at €64.95 will be broken, which will determine a return toward the resistance level of €68.70.
