Vusion: Marks & Spencer Rolls Out Its EdgeSense Smart Rails in New Stores
Vusion announced on November 4, 2026 that Marks & Spencer will deploy its connected store platform in several new M&S stores. The announcement provides for the possibility of an extension to other stores of the retailer at a later stage.
EdgeSense, Bluetooth-Compatible Smart Rails
The deployment covers EdgeSense, Vusion's smart rail platform, which is based on Bluetooth-compatible infrastructure. It aims to better connect store systems, product information and staff activity across the entire sales floor.
A First Phase Focused on Product Information and Restocking
Initially, the deployment will focus on operational improvements: more efficient management of product information and faster item location by staff, thanks to geolocation features such as flashing labels.
The system is also intended to simplify restocking processes and in-aisle execution. Finally, it provides for the establishment of a digital foundation “capable of hosting, in time, new in-store innovations,” according to the press release.
Vusion's UK Head Highlights In-Store Execution
Roy Horgan, Managing Director of Vusion for the United Kingdom and Ireland, stated that the platform “has been designed to help retailers improve their operational execution, while providing them with the infrastructure needed to support their future innovations.”
He recalled that Marks & Spencer “continues to invest in its store network and in the experience of its employees.” Vusion, listed on Compartment A of Euronext Paris and a member of the SBF 120, counts more than 350 major retail groups among its customers worldwide.
