Xilam Animation Reaches 136 Million Subscribers on YouTube and Social Media
In a press release published on October 29, 2026, the animation studio listed on Euronext Growth attributed this growth to three non-verbal comedy franchises: “Zig & Sharko,” “Oggy and the Cockroaches,” and “Where's Chicky?”. These programs are followed by audiences spread across all continents.
More Than 70 Channels and 20 Million Views per Day in 2026
Xilam Animation's YouTube network includes more than 70 channels, and its subscriber base has doubled since January 2022. It has accumulated 68.9 billion views since its creation and, for 2026 to date, averages 20 million views per day.
Three channels have surpassed 10 million subscribers and received YouTube's “Diamond Play Button”: the main channel of “Oggy and the Cockroaches,” its Hindi version, and the main channel of “Zig & Sharko.”
The network also holds 20 “Gold Play Buttons” and 39 “Silver Play Buttons,” which recognize channels that have reached one million and 100,000 subscribers, respectively.
According to Safaa Benazzouz, Deputy Managing Director in charge of distribution and marketing, this milestone reflects the lasting appeal of the characters and the studio's ongoing investment in its digital strategies. She emphasizes that these non-verbal comedies circulate from one language and culture to another, with YouTube enabling the studio to reach new generations while retaining its existing audience.
New Seasons Commissioned by France Télévisions and Gulli
Beyond YouTube, Xilam runs dedicated brand strategies on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat, in order to increase awareness of its programs and support their launches. Its combined audience across YouTube and these social networks reaches 136 million subscribers.
In 2025, the studio's content also generated 4.4 billion views on Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
Xilam is also continuing to expand its franchises. “Where's Chicky?” will be spun off into “Chickies,” a computer-generated animated series in a longer format (78 episodes of 7 minutes each), presold to France Télévisions and scheduled for delivery by the end of 2027.
France Télévisions has also commissioned a ninth season of “Oggy and the Cockroaches,” to be delivered between the third quarter of 2027 and the second quarter of 2028, as the franchise approaches its thirtieth anniversary. Gulli, for its part, has commissioned the fifth and sixth seasons of “Zig & Sharko,” expected in 2027 and 2028 respectively.
