CAC 40 Rises Above 8,050 Points, Publicis Surges Over 5%

A Strongly Bullish Morning on Euronext Paris

The flagship index of the Paris stock exchange is trading higher since the opening, following a positive trend across the Old Continent. Germany's DAX is up 1.31% at 24,625 points, while the STOXX 600 gains 0.83% and London's FTSE 100 is up 0.70%. This positive sentiment contrasts with a mixed close on Wall Street the previous day, where the Nasdaq lost 0.51% and the S&P 500 ended virtually flat. In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 closed the session down by 0.44%.

On the CAC 40, the tone is clearly bullish: almost the entire sector is advancing, with a spread indicating a broad movement rather than an isolated rebound. The SBF 120 is also up 0.86% at 6,127 points, confirming the overall dynamic of the French stock market.

Publicis Captures Attention Following Major Acquisition

Today's standout is Publicis Groupe, surging 5.24% to 86.02 euros. The communications group announced the acquisition of LiveRamp for an enterprise value of 2.167 billion dollars, a global data collaboration platform. The deal, expected to be accretive to earnings per share from the first year, is coupled with an upgrade in the group's growth outlook for 2027 and 2028. Following this announcement, BNP Paribas Exane maintains its « outperform » rating and raises its price target from 120 to 125 euros.

Technology and digital services are following suit. Capgemini is up 4.96% to 105.90 euros, while Dassault Systèmes climbs 4.18%. The defense sector also remains strong, with Thales gaining 3.87% to 228.30 euros. Eurofins Scientific rounds out the top five with an increase of 2.43% to 61.54 euros. These movements give the session a decidedly tech and services-oriented tone, sectors typically sensitive to international flows.

A handful of cyclical stocks see moderate declines

The declines are both few and of small magnitude. Renault drops by 0.98% to 28.32 euros, the worst performer in the index. The car manufacturer took the opportunity in the morning to unveil the name of its future pickup truck intended for Latin American markets, named Niagara, with its revelation planned for September 2026.

STMicroelectronics loses 0.97% to 51.91 euros. Michelin falls by 0.39%, Legrand by 0.17%, and Air Liquide shows a symbolic change of -0.06%. In the background, persistent tensions around the Strait of Hormuz maintain a risk premium on the oil market, with Brent fluctuating around $110 a barrel, a context that traditionally weighs on sectors sensitive to input costs. Nevertheless, the overall picture remains one of a decidedly upward-oriented session in Paris.
