Agripower Invests €4.8M to Convert Methanization Unit in Meuse into Biomethane Injection Site
Agripower has completed the acquisition of a 40% stake in a project to convert an existing methanization unit into a biomethane injection facility located in Meuse. The operation, announced last September, has reached its realization stage.
Project Overview
The project involves the modernization of a cogeneration methanization unit (500 KW electric) that has been operational since 2020. Once transformed, the unit will have an injection capacity of 200 Nm³/h and will handle several tens of thousands of tons of agricultural effluents per year, mainly manure and intermediate energy crops (IEC). The site will be directly connected to the GRDF gas network under a biogas production certificate contract.
Strategic Investment and Control
Through its subsidiary Agripower Partner, the company acquires a 40% stake in the entity carrying the project, coupled with preference shares granting control of 60% of voting rights for 15 years from the unit's commissioning. Agripower has signed a construction contract worth €3.5M as part of a total investment of €4.8M. Construction will begin in the summer of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
