La Française de l'Énergie Reports a 15.4% Increase in Revenue for the First Half
Low-carbon energy producer La Française de l'Énergie recorded a revenue of 14.1 million euros in the first half of 2026, up by 15.4% compared to the same period in the previous year. This growth is attributed to increased gas production volumes and the integration of Alltec in Norway, according to the press release issued this Tuesday.
Segment Performance and Strategic Developments
According to the group, the gas segment generated a revenue of 4.3 million euros over the semester, up by 36.6%. This performance is due to the return to normal availability of the NaTran network and a strategic shift towards gas injection. The produced volumes reached 110 GWh during the period. However, the electricity segment saw a revenue of 5.6 million euros, mainly due to the normalization of market prices and scheduled maintenance on three engines. The group states that 57% of its electricity portfolio in France will now be valued at fixed prices under purchase obligations with the implementation of new units. In Norway, La Française de l'Énergie achieved a revenue of 4.1 million euros through its subsidiaries Greenstat and Alltec.
Expansion and Future Plans
On January 8, 2026, the company signed an agreement with the French government granting access to 18 additional mining sites in Hauts-de-France, in addition to the 4 sites already in operation. According to the press release, the group plans a gradual deployment of 22 additional green electricity production units by 2028, up from 15 currently, aiming for a target installed capacity of 100 MW by 2030. Four initial units totaling 6 MW are in the immediate commissioning phase, including two 1.5 MW units in Angres and two units in Rouvignies expected by early 2026. These units will benefit from 15-year electricity purchase contracts with EDF OA at 80 euros per MWh, providing cash flow visibility from the 2026-2027 fiscal year, the company indicates.
Innovative Projects and Research in Renewable Energy
In Norway, the construction of the first projects for the production of renewable natural gas and bio-CO2 is progressing. At the fully authorized Halsa site, earthworks have begun to accommodate a unit capable of producing 120 GWh of renewable natural gas, 14,200 tons per year of liquid bio-CO2, and 144,500 tons of organic fertilizer, the press release specifies. The 20 MW green hydrogen production site in Agder is also advancing with civil engineering works and the construction of electrolyzers. All these projects are expected to gradually start production from the 2027 fiscal year. In Lorraine, as part of the REGALOR II research program, the group initiated in November the drilling of a deep well to assess the discovery of dissolved natural hydrogen made at the Folschviller site in 2023. The drilling has already reached a depth of 2,500 meters and is expected to reach 4,000 meters by February. The group reiterates its 2030 targets of an annual revenue of more than 175 million euros and an EBITDA of over 85 million euros.
