Airbus Helicopters Signs Sale of Two Medevac H135s to Nigeria
Airbus Helicopters and Kasi Healthcare have signed an agreement for the acquisition of two H135 helicopters designated for emergency medical services. Kasi Healthcare becomes the first Nigerian customer to operate the H135 in a HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) configuration.
Two H135s for Emergency Medical Missions
The agreement, announced at the 3rd Nigeria Airlift 2026 Forum, involves the acquisition of two Airbus H135 helicopters configured for emergency medical missions. Kasi Healthcare, a Nigerian emergency medical services operator, becomes the first in the country to integrate the H135 in a HEMS version, a specialized configuration for critical patient transfers, emergency interventions, and medical air operations.
Training, Maintenance, and Technical Support from Airbus
Beyond the delivery of the two helicopters, the partnership includes comprehensive support from Airbus Helicopters aimed at enhancing local capabilities. This support encompasses training for HEMS crews and pilots, training of aeronautical technicians, establishment of maintenance infrastructure, and operational support to ensure compliance with international safety and reliability standards.
Aspiration to be a Regional Leader in Emergency Air Services
Kasi Healthcare's investment aims to enhance emergency care infrastructure in Nigeria, with the ambition of positioning the country as a regional leader in aerial emergency services in West Africa. The H135, equipped with Helionix digital avionics and a four-axis autopilot, features a spacious and flexible cabin suitable for medical crews and their equipment.
