Airbus: Linfox becomes first H160 operator in Australia
According to a statement released by Airbus on September 15, 2026, Australian group Linfox has become the first operator in Australia to put into service the twin-engine H160 helicopter from Airbus Helicopters. The aircraft will be dedicated to the business aviation and corporate needs of the logistics group based in Melbourne.
An 8-seat configuration for business aviation
According to Airbus's statement, the H160 is certified to carry up to 12 passengers. Linfox Aviation selected an 8-seat configuration. The aircraft is intended to operate across Australian geography, from urban areas to regional destinations.
The preparation of the local entry into service was ensured by Pacific Crown Helicopters, a Part 145 certified maintenance organization and partner of Airbus Helicopters. Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President of Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, described this delivery as an endorsement of the H160 by a recognized Australian operator.
The technical characteristics highlighted by Airbus
According to Airbus, the H160 is designed as a multi-mission helicopter covering public services (search and rescue, internal security, law enforcement, emergency medical services), military operations, offshore transport as well as private and business aviation. The aircraft incorporates the Helionix avionics suite.
The statement specifies that the Arrano engines offer fuel consumption reduction of up to 18% compared to previous generation engines in its category, and that the aircraft is certified to operate with fuel blends containing up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Airbus also indicates that more than 70 H160s are in service worldwide, having accumulated more than 14,000 flight hours over the past year.
