Airbus Secures Order for Three H225s in Vietnam for Offshore Energy Operations
Vietnam Helicopter Corporation has announced the order of three Airbus H225 helicopters to support the expansion of its offshore energy operations and to progressively modernize its fleet. This order is part of the group's long-term strategy to enhance its heavy helicopter capabilities.
Strategic Enhancement of Fleet Capabilities
Subsidiaries of Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH North), have placed an order for three H225s from Airbus Helicopters. These aircraft will support the ongoing expansion of the group's offshore energy operations and will gradually replace aging aircraft in the existing fleet. This order strengthens a partnership that has been established for over 40 years between VNH and Airbus Helicopters and reflects the Vietnamese group's strategy to modernize and enhance its heavy helicopter capabilities. Kieu Dang Hung, General Manager of VNH, stated that the H225 will 'form the backbone' of the future fleet, enabling modernization of operations while expanding capacity and operational flexibility.
Integration into Existing Fleet and Versatile Deployment
The three new H225s will join VNH's existing Airbus fleet, which includes Super Puma and H155 helicopters. These aircraft will be deployed for offshore energy transport, utility missions, search and rescue, as well as broader transport operations. The H225, known as the latest addition to the Super Puma family, is recognized for its performance in challenging conditions, high autonomy, and substantial payload capacity. The aircraft features state-of-the-art avionics and autopilot systems that enhance safety and reduce pilot workload.
