Airbus stock rebounds after breaking its 196 € support level
The European aircraft manufacturer rebounds this Friday after breaking its 196 € support level during Wednesday's session, in a CAC 40 up 0.61% during the session. The stock benefits from substantial commercial news this week, with several contracts signed in the defense and space segments.
A rebound that brings the stock back above its support level, under pressure from moving averages
Airbus gains 1.41% to 198.54 € during the session, after closing the previous day at 195.78 €. This rebound comes following a break below the 196.10 € support level, a level now reclaimed. The technical configuration remains nevertheless constrained: the stock is trading below its 20-day moving average at 203.48 € (spread of -2.43%) and its 50-day moving average at 204.17 € (spread of -2.76%), two moving averages that form a nearby ceiling. Only the 200-day moving average at 189.84 € is situated below the current price, offering a cushion of 4.58%.
With an RSI at 37, the stock is approaching oversold zones without reaching them outright, signaling a weakening of selling pressure that coincides with this intraday rebound. Over one month, the stock is still down 7.51%, although the three-month balance remains positive at +13.48%. Resistance at 215.40 € remains distant.
CIC Market Solutions maintains its buy rating with a 240 € price target, space contracts in the background
This Friday, CIC Market Solutions reiterated its buy rating on the stock with an unchanged price target of 240 €, representing upside potential of over 20% from the current price. This position comes in a context of sustained commercial news for the aircraft manufacturer. On September 10, Eutelsat placed a new order for 229 OneWeb satellites, bringing the total assigned to Airbus Defence and Space to 669 units for the renewal of the constellation in low Earth orbit.
On the same day, Airbus and Thales signed an initial contract for the construction of the first satellites of the IRIS² constellation, with deliveries expected in 2029. These contracts add to Defence and Space bookings, which surged significantly to 9.3 billion euros when reporting the first half 2026 results (results published July 29, 2026), which also mentioned a record order backlog of 9,222 commercial aircraft. The next identified milestone on the financial calendar is the BNP Paribas Sustainability Conference, scheduled for September 17.
