Alten Shares Decline by 3.3% and Fall Below Its 20-Day Moving Average
The engineering and technology consulting specialist erases part of its May rebound in a downward trending Parisian market. The session breaks the recovery dynamic observed in recent weeks and brings the stock below a short-term technical benchmark.
Alten Significantly Drops and Ranks Low in the SBF 120
Alten shares fall by 3.26% to €60.80 in early afternoon trading, while the SBF 120 loses 0.82% and the CAC 40 declines by 0.74%. The drop brings the weekly decline to 7.53%, after a series of rising sessions that had brought the stock above €65 in early June. The movement is part of a tense European environment, with the DAX losing 2% and the FTSE 100 falling by 2.2% during the session. Alten is among the biggest losers in the SBF 120, in a sector where technology stocks are particularly shaken, as exemplified by Soitec plummeting more than 14%. Over the year, the stock still shows a decline of 17.45%, despite the recovery that began in the spring.
The Stock Falls Below Its 20-Day Moving Average and Still Struggles with the 200-Day Average
At €60.80, the price falls below the 20-day moving average (€63.50), with a gap of 4.25%, closing the crossing sequence observed at the end of May after the stock broke its resistance at €63.55, as documented on May 22. The 200-day average, at €65.58, remains 7.29% above the current price and has not been reclaimed. The RSI at 52 indicates a market without significant buying or selling pressure, despite the day's setback. The support identified at €56.50 remains more than 7% away and is not threatened in the short term. According to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading at approximately 8.4 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year, with an estimated EPS growth of 10.9% for the following year.
