Carrefour share declines nearly 2% but retains +23.5% over one year
The retailer retreats during the session, in a Paris market oriented downward, following a weekend marked by violence in several cities.
A decline of 1.81% that keeps the price above its three moving averages
The Carrefour share falls 1.81% to €16.31, a movement slightly more pronounced than that of the CAC 40, which loses 1.33%. The stock is ranked among the declining values of the index, without appearing at the bottom of the table, where Stellantis, Accor and Airbus retreat by 2.6% to 3.8%. This decline occurs following a period of gains: the stock retains 2.1% gain over the week and remains above its MA20 (gap of 1.37%) as well as its MA200 (2.64%).
The RSI at 60 is neutral. The mid-October rebound had brought the stock back above its moving averages, and today's decline does not call into question this configuration. The support at €15.46 is nearly 5% below the price, resistance at €16.81 is approximately 3% above.
A €152 million buyback and revenue figures expected on October 20
Carrefour signed an agreement on Monday to acquire Codifrance from Colruyt, an operation valued at €152 million. Codifrance is an affiliation specialist that supplies approximately 3,100 customers in France, a supply and support model for independent retailers in which the retailer is already present through its Proxi banner. The group had also announced on October 8 the disposal of 35 stores for €290 million, of which it will remain the tenant. In terms of valuation, the stock trades at approximately 9.4 times the earnings of the current fiscal year, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts.
At the publication of the first half of 2026 (July 23), the group had confirmed its annual targets, including a €1 billion cost-saving plan that had already generated €490 million by that date. Third-quarter revenue will be published on October 20.
