ENGIE will construct an anaerobic digestion methanization unit in the north of England, with an annual capacity of 60 GWh of biomethane. This output is equivalent to the gas consumption of approximately 5,000 households.
Environmental Impact
The contract is expected to enable PepsiCo UK to reduce its annual CO2 emissions by more than 10,900 tonnes. ENGIE already operates four methanization units in the southwest of England, injecting over 210 GWh of biomethane per year into the British gas network.
