Exail Technologies Secures Two New Orders for its DriX H-9 Surface Drone
Exail Technologies has announced the signing of two contracts for its DriX H-9 surface drone, according to a press release dated January 7. One of the orders includes anti-air drone capabilities, a first for this type of maritime equipment.
Innovative Maritime Defense Order
The first order comes from the innovation branch of a leading navy, the group indicates. The DriX H-9 drone will be equipped for CUAS (Counter-Unmanned Aerial System) missions, incorporating sensors and technologies provided by a third party for the neutralization of aerial drones. According to the company, this adaptation allows for extending anti-drone defense beyond the coast, providing mobile and flexible protection on the water. The system can be deployed to protect a fleet in transit, escort sensitive ships in high-risk areas, secure access to a port, or defend critical infrastructure against drone attacks. The DriX H-9 is characterized by its autonomy, payload capacity, and modularity, allowing it to quickly integrate new systems for various missions such as surveillance, security, hydrography, anti-drone warfare, and infrastructure protection.
Second Order from Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service
The second order was placed by SHOM (Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy), the company specifies. This marks the second acquisition of a DriX drone by this entity, reflecting, according to the group, the growing reputation of the system in the field of seabed mapping. The DriX H-9 will enable faster collection cycles, extend the coverage of monitored areas, and ensure the rapid availability of reliable information, crucial for the safety of navigation and the management of maritime spaces. These two new orders bring the total number of contracts signed for the DriX H-9 to three in recent months.
Promising Outlook for 2026
According to the press release, the year 2026 looks promising for Exail Technologies, with new contracts currently in the finalization phase for surface drones. The group states that these orders demonstrate the technological maturity and operational relevance of its range of autonomous drones. Exail Technologies, formerly known as Groupe Gorgé, specializes in autonomous robotics and navigation systems. The company offers, among other things, maritime drone systems for counteracting underwater mines and inertial navigation units using fiber optic gyroscope technology. The company generates most of its revenue in the defense sector, but also serves civilian clients in nearly 80 countries.
