Exosens Secures an Order of Over 7,000 5G Intensifier Tubes from ACTinBlack
Exosens has announced receiving an order for more than 7,000 fifth-generation light intensifier tubes from ACTinBlack Group, a European manufacturer of night vision systems. According to the press release, this is the largest single order of 5G tubes recorded to date by the French group.
Details of the Order
The order includes more than 7,000 5G light intensifier tubes, with delivery scheduled between 2027 and 2028, the company states. These components will be integrated into night vision binoculars intended for European end-users belonging to special forces. ACTinBlack Group, based in Luxembourg with a subsidiary in Texas, is described as one of the leading European manufacturers of advanced night vision systems and as a recognized supplier within the international special forces community. According to Exosens, this contract represents the largest single order of 5G intensifier tubes won by the group to date and confirms the market's adoption of this new product.
Technological Advancements and Performance
Exosens' 5G light intensifier tubes are designed for the most demanding low-light environments, the press release specifies. According to Frédéric Guilhem, Executive Director of the Night Vision Division at Exosens, these tubes offer a 30% improvement in overall performance and an increase of up to 35% in detection ranges, regardless of the level of darkness, compared to a current standard intensifier tube. The group emphasizes that ACTinBlack is currently the client that has acquired the largest number of 5G light intensifier tubes from Exosens. The 5G technology represents, according to the company, the highest level of performance in night vision.
Strategic Implications and Industry Leadership
ACTinBlack's choice of Exosens' 5G technology highlights, according to the press release, the group's ability to support large-scale, multi-year programs while ensuring controlled supply chains and sustainable industrial excellence. Exosens presents itself as a strategic supplier of NATO for night vision technologies. The group claims to play a key role in enhancing operational readiness and contributing to defense sovereignty through dedicated innovations for the armed forces. Exosens, which has more than 2,000 employees spread across 12 sites in Europe and North America, is listed on compartment A of Euronext Paris.
