Klépierre Acquires Casamassima Shopping Center in the Bari Region
French real estate group Klépierre finalized the acquisition of the Casamassima Shopping Center, located in the metropolitan area of Bari with a population of 1.4 million, according to a press release dated January 2, 2026.
High Traffic and Loyalty Rates
According to the group, Casamassima records an annual footfall of 7.5 million visitors and boasts a loyalty rate of over 90%. The center is part of a 100,000 square meter commercial and leisure destination in the Apulia region. The property hosts a diverse range of stores including Spazio Conad for groceries, Leroy Merlin, Decathlon, MediaWorld, Sephora, Foot Locker, and Rituals, as well as a nine-screen cinema complex. In the fashion segment, the center includes a Zara store, the only Primark in the region, and outlets like Bershka, Stradivarius, and Pull & Bear. The acquisition is part of the group's Business-to-Business approach, aimed at supporting the development of major international brands.
Renovation and Expansion Plans
Klépierre has announced that a renovation program will be initiated to enhance the customer experience at the Casamassima Center. The expansion of several brands is also confirmed, with the opening of flagship stores, the group specifies. These projects aim to strengthen the commercial mix of the asset. The company states that integrating Casamassima into its portfolio will optimize the center's operations through reversion, relocation, and the deployment of Mall Income, leveraging Klépierre's position as the leading shopping center platform in Southern Europe.
Anticipated High Returns
According to the press release, Klépierre anticipates a return on investment approaching double digits in the first year of operation. The group, whose portfolio was valued at 20.6 billion euros as of June 30, 2025, operates major shopping centers in over ten countries in continental Europe, attracting more than 700 million visitors annually. Klépierre is listed on Euronext Paris and is a member of the CAC Next 20 and EPRA Euro Zone indices.
