Carrefour leads the CAC 40, above its moving averages
The Carrefour share gains 2.26% to €16.53 and holds first place on the CAC 40, which advances 0.29% at the same time. Over one week, the stock climbs 3.6%, erasing the decline observed in early October, when it lost its support at €15.60 on October 1st. The price stands 2.7% above its 20-day moving average and 4.2% above its 200-day moving average, with an RSI at 52 indicating neither overbought nor oversold conditions.
The resistance threshold at €16.81 is approximately 1.7% above the current price. On valuation, the stock trades at approximately 9.6 times current fiscal year earnings, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts. The group confirmed its 2026 targets when publishing H1 2026 results on July 23, 2026, with a cost-saving plan of €1 billion, of which €490 million had already been realized in the first half.
Third quarter revenue expected on October 20th
The retailer's next milestone is the publication of its third quarter revenue, scheduled for October 20th. Among the points noted in the half-year results, commercial margin had declined by 28 basis points to 19.1% of revenue, due to investments made on prices. The group also sold the buildings of 35 stores in early October for €290 million, of which it remains the tenant. In a Paris market where the 10-year OAT yield stands at 4.80%, today's gain puts Carrefour ahead of Orange, which gains 2.21%, and Bouygues, at +1.64%.
