Maisons du Monde: Financial Negotiations Fail, Company Seeks New Buyer
Maisons du Monde announces the failure of discussions with financial partners aimed at securing funding for its business plan. Engaged in a conciliation procedure since January 2026, the group is now initiating a search for backing from third-party investors and industrialists.
Ongoing Negotiations Unsuccessful
Maisons du Monde had been engaged in friendly and confidential negotiations with its financial partners for several months, as part of an ad hoc mandate procedure followed by a conciliation procedure opened in January 2026. These discussions aimed to bring in new liquidity and restructure existing bank debt, particularly through equity solutions. Conducted in a particularly tense geopolitical and consumer environment, these prolonged and intense negotiations have not succeeded to date.
Immediate Financial Challenges
The group faces a consumption of cash flow and immediate financing needs. An upcoming repayment installment of its syndicated loan amounts to 25 million euros in principal, scheduled for April 22, 2026. These short-term challenges motivated the multipartite discussions with financial partners.
Search for New Backing
Maisons du Monde is initiating a search for backing solutions from third-party investors and industrialists, still under the supervision of the conciliator. This approach aims to ensure the continuity of the group's activities. A forthcoming communication on the progress of these negotiations and searches is scheduled no later than April 17, 2026, during the announcement of the 2025 annual results.
