Michelin Guide: Shenzhen joins Guangzhou with 176 selected establishments
The Clermont-based group unveiled a joint selection at the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen bringing together two Chinese cities, marking Shenzhen's entry into the territory covered by its gastronomic guide. This initiative extends the restaurant recommendation activity that Michelin has been developing in Guangdong province since 2018.
Shenzhen integrates an expanded selection
Michelin unveiled on August 21, 2026 the first joint selection of the Michelin Guide Guangzhou | Shenzhen 2026. This edition welcomes Shenzhen as a new destination, alongside Guangzhou, a city featured in the Guide since 2018. The expanded selection comprises 176 establishments, including 5 two-Michelin-starred tables, 22 one-starred addresses, 73 Bib Gourmand and 76 recommended restaurants. For its inaugural vintage, Shenzhen brings 59 restaurants, including 7 starred tables. According to Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide, the initiative is part of a commitment to "continue exploring the Greater Bay region" and discovering new addresses throughout the province.
Four individual awards presented, including a Chef Mentor Prize
The ceremony was an opportunity to present four individual awards. The inaugural Michelin Chef Mentor Prize of Guangdong province was awarded to Jinghui Huang, chef of the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Jiang by Chef Fei in Guangzhou. The other distinctions include the Young Chef Prize, awarded to Chunghan Hou (La Lune, Shenzhen), the Service Prize, presented to Lianxiang Qin (Yue Yan, Guangzhou), and the Sommelier Prize, presented to Herry He (Chaleur, Guangzhou). This communication falls under the activity of the Michelin Guide, one of the components of the restaurant and hotel recommendation services developed by the group, whose core business remains tires and components for mobility and industry.
