Nexans Advances in Electrification and Plans Acquisition in Canada
Nexans reports a 5.8% organic growth in its activities for the first nine months of 2025, and announces the acquisition of Electro Cables in Canada.
Financial Performance and Sector Growth
According to the press release, Nexans recorded a standard revenue of 5,331 million euros for the first nine months of 2025, representing an organic increase of 5.8% compared to the same period last year. The electrification segment particularly excelled with a growth of 9.4%, reaching an increase of 12.6% in the third quarter. The adjusted order book for the PWR-Transmission activity advanced by 27% to reach 7.9 billion euros as of September 30, 2025.
Strategic Acquisition and Financial Support
Nexans announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Electro Cables, a Canadian company specializing in low voltage cables. This move is intended to strengthen Nexans' position in the PWR-Connect segment in Canada. Concurrently, the European Investment Bank has granted Nexans a financing of 250 million euros to support its research and development programs.
2025 Outlook and Leadership Transition
Nexans has confirmed its outlook for 2025, with an expected adjusted EBITDA between 810 and 860 million euros and a free cash flow ranging from 275 to 375 million euros. The group is also undergoing a leadership transition with Julien Hueber succeeding Christopher Guérin as the CEO. This transition occurs as Nexans strengthens its development strategy in the electrification market.
