TF1 Stock Falls 2.5% and Hits Resistance at €7.14
The private channel's share price resists the overall trend of the SBF 120, which barely declines during the session, but displays one of the most pronounced pullbacks on the index this Tuesday. The decline follows in the wake of half-year results published at the end of July, which confirmed 2026 targets while revealing persistent tensions in linear advertising.
A decline of 2.31% that brings the stock back in contact with its short-term moving averages
The TF1 stock falls 2.31% to €6.97 during the session, approaching the 20-day (€6.86) and 50-day (€6.81) moving averages, above which the stock still holds with respective gaps of 1.6% and 2.35%. The resistance at €7.14, which corresponds roughly to the previous closing price (€7.135), did not hold from the opening. The stock is thus trading in a corridor between the support at €6.60 below and the clearly broken resistance above.
The RSI at 68 signals a configuration close to overbought, consistent with the roughly 3% advance recorded over one month: today's decline can be interpreted as a technical normalization following this bullish phase. The 200-day moving average at €7.40 continues to weigh as structural resistance, approximately 6% above the current price, illustrating the distance still to be covered to erase the 17% decline over one year.
Half-year results that confirm targets but highlight the fragility of the advertising market
The first half 2026 results, published on July 24, painted a contrasting picture: revenue declined 9.9% to €993 million, penalized by erosion in the linear advertising market and negative scope effects of €39 million linked to 2025 disposals, while the operating margin held at 7.8%, in line with the annual target. TF1 confirmed its 2026 guidance while pointing to an expected contribution from new initiatives in the second half, notably through the partnership with Netflix, whose launch had exceeded audience targets for 18 months in less than three weeks by late June. Digital advertising remains the group's clearest source of growth: digital revenue grew 17.1% to €134 million for the semester, with TF1+ advertising up 18.6% to €109 million. This digital engine will need to assert itself further in the second half to offset persistent pressure on traditional advertising, the main driver of current operating results from activities.
