The company has recently secured the supply of over 400,000 image intensification tubes through the extension of its long-term commercial agreement with Exosens, valid until the end of 2030. To fulfill its part of the contract with OCCAR, Theon plans to expand its facilities in Wetzlar, Germany, by the second quarter of 2026, with a tripling of staff expected by the end of 2026. These measures are part of the company's ongoing local sourcing strategy and support the anticipated growth in orders.
Historic Supply and Market Demand
According to Christian Hadjiminas, CEO of Theon, this revised contract represents the largest supply of NVGs in the history of a European NATO member. Theon's order book for 2025 now stands at 1.3 billion euros, with additional options bringing this total to about 2 billion euros. Historically, the options included in contracts are fully exercised into firm orders. Philippe Mennicken, Deputy General Manager of Theon, emphasizes that night vision devices are essential on the modern battlefield. The increasing demand, particularly in Europe and the APAC region, fuels Theon's ongoing growth strategy in the man-portable equipment segment.
