TotalEnergies Caps Gasoline at €1.99/L and Diesel at €2.25/L
In response to the resurgence of geopolitical tensions and rising international oil prices, TotalEnergies reactivated its fuel price cap policy across all its service stations in mainland France on July 22, 2026, a measure that had been lifted last June.
Reintroduction of the Cap in Response to Middle Eastern Escalation
TotalEnergies has reinstated the fuel price cap at €1.99/L for gasoline and €2.25/L for diesel at all its service stations in mainland France. This measure addresses the recent increase in international oil product prices following the resumption of conflict in the Middle East. The company had suspended this policy in June 2026, but decided to reactivate it due to changes in the geopolitical landscape and their impacts on the energy markets.
