Ubisoft: Two Key Appointments to Steer Its New Operational Model
Ubisoft announces the appointment of Julien Bares as General Manager of Creative Houses 3 and 5, and Thomas Andrén as General Manager of the Creative Network. These appointments are part of the rollout of the company's new operational model.
Leadership at Creative Houses 3 and 5
Julien Bares will join Ubisoft on March 23, 2026, as the General Manager of Creative Houses 3 and 5. He will lead Creative House 3, focused on live experiences including The Crew, For Honor, and Riders Republic, as well as Creative House 5, which is dedicated to casual and mobile experiences, including Just Dance, Growtopia, and Hungry Shark. Bares brings over 25 years of experience in the video game industry. He previously held the position of Head of Development and Portfolio Support at Tencent Games Global and served as General Manager at 2K China. He also started his career at Ubisoft as a Producer on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
Heading the Creative Network
Thomas Andrén is appointed General Manager of the Creative Network and will assume his role on April 1, 2026. He will oversee a group of expert studios providing operational expertise and agility to support the Creative Houses. Andrén has more than 20 years of experience in the media, technology, and gaming sectors. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer at Red Bee Media before joining Massive Entertainment at Ubisoft. During the transition period, he will also serve as the interim head of Massive Entertainment until a successor is appointed.
