42.5% Drop in Three Months for Eutelsat Stock, RSI at 27
The satellite operator extends a slide that has been ongoing for several months, in a declining Paris market. The stock joins the bottom of the SBF 120, as investors also scrutinize French debt.
The 1.50 € Support Breaks and RSI Sinks into Oversold Territory
The Eutelsat Communications stock declines by 2.03% to 1.47 € at mid-day, placing it at the 100th position in an SBF 120 that is losing 1.05%. The stock has fallen below its 1.50 € support level, and the RSI at 27 reflects the extent of accumulated selling pressure in recent weeks. The gap with moving averages remains considerable: the price is 14.06% below the 20-day MA and 36.11% below the 200-day MA.
Over three months, the stock has surrendered 42.37%, and 17.86% over the past month alone. The group's latest publications have not reversed the trend. The completion of the first 32 OneWeb satellites in the constellation renewal program, announced on October 2, was followed by a brief rebound that did not last.
Paris Market Under Pressure from French Debt
The CAC 40 is down 1.11% during the session, in a tense context on the bond market. The ten-year OAT is at 4.72% according to the latest Bank of France reading (October 6), with a spread of 1.27 points against the German Bund. This spread, close to 150 basis points a few days earlier, is at its highest since 2011, while the State's budget deficit reached 159.6 billion euros at the end of August.
Brent is holding around 100 dollars per barrel, and US indices had closed higher on Tuesday. For Eutelsat, the 1.50 € level becomes a resistance to reclaim: the stock is trading 47.61% lower than a year ago.
