Adocia to Present AdoShell and BioChaperone Data at EASD 2026
The Lyon-based biopharmaceutical company announced its participation in two international scientific congresses, where data on its AdoShell cell encapsulation platform and full results from a phase 3 study of BioChaperone Lispro conducted in China will be presented.
These communications follow the decision made in the first quarter of 2026 to prioritize the development of BioChaperone technology.
Two Congresses and Three Oral Presentations Scheduled
Adocia indicated that data relating to scaling up the AdoShell platform for human application will be the subject of two oral presentations at the 2026 annual congress of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and the first Breakthrough T1D Clinical & Research congress.
The EASD congress will be held from September 28 to October 2, 2026 in Milan, Italy, while the Breakthrough T1D congress will take place from October 9 to 11, 2026 in Philadelphia, United States.
Furthermore, the full results of the phase 3 clinical study of BioChaperone Lispro in people with type 2 diabetes in China will be presented at the EASD congress, during a session dedicated to developments in new insulins.
AdoShell Clinical Trial Application Suspended in Favor of BioChaperone
Adocia recalled that during the first quarter of 2026, it decided to prioritize the development of its BioChaperone technology and suspend activities related to the submission of the clinical trial application for AdoShell with human pancreatic islets, originally planned for the third quarter of 2026.
According to the Company, this clinical objective could be resumed as soon as the financial situation and human resources allow.
BioChaperone Lispro, an ultra-rapid insulin, was licensed to Tonghua Dongbao in 2018 as part of a licensing agreement covering China and other Asian countries. Based in Lyon, Adocia has approximately 80 employees and has a portfolio of drug candidates derived from four proprietary technology platforms.
