Alten shares fall nearly 4%, among the largest declines in the SBF 120
The engineering consulting specialist falls sharply early in the afternoon, while the Paris index remains stable. The decline comes a few days after the publication of its third-quarter activity, in a market where French debt remains at the center of attention.
A clear drop to €85.90 that leaves the stock above its moving averages
The stock loses 3.81% to €85.90, compared with €89.30 the previous day, and ranks among the largest declines in the SBF 120, which is down 0.07% at the same time.
The price moves away from the €89.45 resistance, tested during the session in recent days, and nevertheless remains above its MA20 (a gap of 1.19%) as well as its MA200, which is 29.78% below the price.
The week closes with a decline of nearly 4%, while the three-month gain reaches 14.38%. The RSI at 56 remains neutral: the move of the day looks more like profit-taking than a trend reversal.
A third quarter with accelerating growth, but a stock already at a very high level over one year
On October 27, the group had announced revenue of €1,055.2 million in the third quarter, up 6.4%, including 3.6% on a constant-currency basis. At the time of this release, the company said it expected organic growth of around 2% for 2026.
The stock had already given back ground following these figures, after a strong rise in previous months, and it still shows a gain of more than 20% over one year.
According to the issuer's statements, Alten has also bought back €57 million of shares over twelve months, or 1.9% of its market capitalization. The €89.45 level remains the upper bound to watch for the continuation of the move.
