Among the steepest declines in the CAC 40, Schneider Electric shares fall nearly 3%
The equipment manufacturer from Rueil-Malmaison's stock extends its decline late in the afternoon, in a CAC 40 also showing significant weakness. Two research firms revised their forecasts the day before, following the announcement of a very large-scale acquisition.
Support level of €260.50 breached, fifteen points below the 200-day moving average
The Schneider Electric stock falls 2.76% to €253.30, below the €260.50 support level that corresponded to the previous day's close. The CAC 40 drops 1.41% at the same time, but the stock is performing significantly worse than the index: it ranks at the bottom of the leaderboard, far from the leading group. The decline weighs on a weekly basis (-14.53%) and amplifies a downtrend that began after the agreement to acquire PTC for approximately 22 billion euros, announced on October 5.
The price is now below all three moving averages: 5.21% below the 200-day MA at €267.21, 11.69% below the 20-day MA at €286.82. The RSI at 35 remains neutral, with no signs of selling exhaustion.

On October 6, JP Morgan lowered its target from €345 to €310, moving from overweight to neutral, while Vertical Research Partners reduced it from €300 to €265 with a hold rating. In both cases, the target remains above the current price of €253.30. The analyst consensus on the stock is viewed in light of these revisions.
On the financing side, the group plans to fund the transaction through debt and a capital increase, with a pause in its share buyback program in 2027 and 2028. When publishing H1 2026 results on July 31, management had raised its full-year guidance, relying on an order book at record levels.
