At the forefront of the SBF 120, Alstom stock rises 2.5% following a series of orders
The Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine railway manufacturer continues its rebound at mid-day, in a rising Paris market. The stock is moving clearly away from its recent lows, as orders have followed one another in recent weeks.
A rebound that holds above short and medium-term moving averages
At €16.33, Alstom gains 2.61% and ranks among the strongest gains in the SBF 120, which advances 0.28%. The stock gains nearly 6% over the week, but still loses more than 26% over a year. It is trading above its 20-day moving average (difference of +6.63%) as well as its 50-day moving average (+3.00%), while the 200-day moving average at €19.86 remains well above the price, 17.80% higher.
The resistance at €16.50 is now within reach, just over 1% from current levels. This upturn follows the agreement signed on October 6 with Vingroup for up to 83 metro cars intended for Hanoi. It also follows the order for 35 additional trains in Sweden, announced on September 29, as well as the €460 million contract for Riyadh's driverless metro.

During the publication of Q1 2027 on July 22, 2026, the group confirmed its outlook for the 2026-2027 fiscal year: organic revenue growth of around 5% and an adjusted operating margin of around 6.5%. Based on the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock trades at approximately 10 times current year earnings and 8.3 times next year's earnings. Regarding net short positions, six funds cumulate 5.07% of capital according to the declarations reviewed, compared to 4.48% thirty days ago.
The increase of 0.59 percentage point in one month places this level above 5%, a threshold that this monitoring deserves to keep an eye on without drawing hasty conclusions. The next technical benchmark is the €16.50 resistance level.
