Crédit Agricole: Emergency Credit at 2.5% for Merchants Affected on October 17
In a statement published on October 19, 2026, the group presented a series of measures for its professional and merchant clients affected by the deterioration that occurred on October 17. The scheme covers three areas: cash flow, recovery of receipts, and insurance coverage of losses.
2.5% Loan, Six-Month Moratorium and Terminals Replaced Within 48 Hours
Crédit Agricole defined its priority in these terms: "be present from the first moments alongside our clients, provide them with rapid and concrete solutions and help them protect their business, meet immediate expenses and initiate their recovery as quickly as possible". To meet cash flow needs, the bank offers an emergency credit line at a rate of 2.5%, up to 20,000 euros. This credit can be released within 48 hours, without processing fees, and repayable over 24 months.
This is supplemented by a moratorium of up to six months on professional loan and commercial equipment lease payments, without amendment fees, to cover the recovery and business resumption period. To enable the reopening of shops, damaged or stolen electronic payment terminals will be replaced free of charge within 48 hours. Enhanced telephone assistance is being set up to handle requests from affected clients.
Affected merchants will also benefit from an exemption from card processing commissions for three months, up to a limit of 1,000 euros.
Simplified Loss Declaration and Advance Before Assessment
For insured clients concerned, the loss declaration can be made by simply calling 0800 810 812, and the declaration deadline is extended until the end of October. The group also plans an immediate advance on compensation, in the form of a flat-rate deposit, so that professionals can carry out emergency work without waiting for the expert's report.
Guarding and securing fees for professional premises are organized or covered for up to 72 hours, or within the limits provided for in the contract. According to the statement, the bank's teams are mobilized to examine each situation and provide affected merchants with the most appropriate solutions.
