Crédit Agricole Launches a Student Loan at 1.99% Interest Rate Without Parental Guarantee Up to €20,000
On Thursday, Crédit Agricole announced the enhancement of its offerings for young people with a subsidized student loan interest rate of 1.99%, available without parental guarantee from the age of 18. This offer is part of the 'C'est Carré' program, designed for under 30s, combining credit, banking, and insurance services.
A Loan Without Parental Guarantee, a Market First
The 'Student Loan Without Your Parents', launched in 2025 by Crédit Agricole, allows higher education students and apprentices to borrow without a guarantor, regardless of their family situation or academic background. This no-guarantee formula covers up to €20,000 at 1.99% and is available to young people from 18 years old (clients for at least three months and demonstrating the absence of a third-party guarantor). An alternative offer with a guarantor allows financing all the needs related to student life up to €75,000 at the same rate of 1.99%, aimed at students and apprentices from 15 years old (with a parent borrower if the student is a minor). The loan covers registration and tuition fees, accommodation, mobility, equipment, and everyday expenses. Applicants can perform an online simulation and finalize their subscription at a Crédit Agricole branch.
Comprehensive Support Beyond Financing
Beyond the student loan, Crédit Agricole structures its approach around the 'C'est Carré' program, which combines various banking and insurance services. Young people have access to a Young Tenant's Home Insurance at €6 per month (for rentals up to two rooms), tailored banking offers including Eko (free, 100% digital, and without income conditions), as well as Essential and Premium at preferential rates, and a Young Driver Auto Insurance incorporating a free preventive driving course and progressive tariff benefits. In terms of presence among the younger generations, Crédit Agricole relies on sports and cultural partnerships, notably with the Kings League (now Kings League Crédit Agricole France for two years) and Team Vitality in esports. The group also leverages its position as the leading French bank on Meta, TikTok, and YouTube by subscriber count, with collaborations with influential creators such as Michou, Hem Ton Kiné, and Ben Nevert.
