DBV Technologies: $64.5M Loss in Third Quarter and Going Concern Doubts
Third quarter 2026 results published on October 28, 2026 by DBV Technologies illustrate the cost of transitioning to a commercial organization. The authorization application for the Viaskin Peanut patch was submitted to the U.S. health authority (FDA) on September 29, 2026. Operating expenses increased across all lines.
The Châtillon-based biotech company had $165.7 million in cash as of September 30, 2026, an amount it considers sufficient to finance its activities through the third quarter of 2027.
However, management concluded that these liquid assets do not cover the next twelve months. It therefore reported substantial doubt about going concern and a need for additional capital.

Net cash flows related to operations and investments represented an outflow of $159.4 million in the first nine months of 2026, compared to $86.7 million over the same period in 2025. The company attributes this increase to the advancement of its programs and the expansion of its organization.
To finance itself, DBV Technologies renewed its at-the-market (ATM) offering program for $150 million. It also sold ADSs to RA Capital Management for gross proceeds of $50 million, an operation announced in July 2026.
Management indicates it is studying several financing options, including new sales under the ATM program, capital transactions, and the exercise of warrants. It specifies that the availability and terms of these financings will depend in particular on regulatory progress and market conditions. As of October 22, 2026, the stock was down 32% over three months.
FDA Decision on File Acceptability Expected in Fourth Quarter 2026
The application filed for children aged 4 to 7 years, accompanied by a request for priority review, is based on the phase 3 VITESSE trial, which included 654 children. The FDA must indicate in the fourth quarter of 2026 whether the application is sufficiently complete to proceed with substantive review, and whether priority review is granted.
On the production side, subcontractor Fareva Amboise is continuing its corrective measures following the FDA warning letter issued in April 2026. According to DBV Technologies, the target date for the pre-approval inspection listed in the application is after the date Fareva plans to complete these works.
For children aged 1 to 3 years, the company plans to submit a second application in 2027, reviewed by the same FDA team.
Chief Executive Officer Daniel Tassé presented this quarter as a milestone in the transition from a clinical-stage company to a commercial organization. Based on current projections, the $165.7 million cash position is expected to finance activities through the third quarter of 2027.
