Eviden (Atos) launches Astra-Las, a decision support assistant for naval warfare
Through a press release published on October 27, 2026, Eviden, the product brand of Atos Group dedicated to cybersecurity, critical systems and vision AI, presented a solution intended for embarked officers and operators. The tool is presented as the application to naval warfare of Atos Codex, the real-time operational decision-making platform recently launched by the group.
Leveraging sensor data to accelerate tactical decision-making
ASTRA-LAS (Tactical Analysis and Action Assistant, surface combat) exploits available operational data. It provides operators with an enriched visual representation of their tactical environment, automated analyses and recommendations tailored to their mission. According to the press release, the solution aims to improve information exploitation, reduce the cognitive load on operators and shorten operational decision cycles.
Eviden places this launch in a context where naval operations rely on a growing volume of data from multiple sensors and systems. The ability to rapidly exploit this information is described as essential for achieving information and operational superiority. ASTRA-LAS supports the digital transformation of naval operations, notably driven by the emergence of embarked data hubs.
Scalable design supported by Racine Group and HawAI.tech
Developed according to an agile approach centered on the operational needs of naval forces, ASTRA-LAS enables rapid integration of new features and updates during sea deployments. Its analysis capabilities can also evolve based on operational feedback and operator requirements.
The solution integrates digital orders of battle developed by Racine Group from open source intelligence (OSINT), as well as AI-based route optimization technologies developed by HawAI.tech. Eviden indicates that it is combining its operational expertise and data capabilities with the contributions of SMEs and start-ups from the defense ecosystem.
"As the pace of operations accelerates and the number of information sources continues to grow, naval forces need solutions capable of rapidly transforming maritime situational awareness data into operational advantages," declared Bernard Payer, head of critical systems at Eviden. According to the press release, Eviden relies on more than 2,200 experts and 720 patents.
