Exail Technologies Secures Second Order for Transoceanic DriX Drone from OMS Group
Exail Technologies announces a new order for the transoceanic surface drone DriX O-16 from OMS Group, a player in digital infrastructure and submarine cables. This order follows an initial acquisition made by the same client in 2025.
Deployment and Operational Capabilities
The DriX O-16 will be deployed by OMS Group for survey missions related to the laying of submarine cables, including bathymetric surveys, route verification, and telecommunications infrastructure monitoring. Equipped with an operational autonomy of up to 30 days and a range of approximately 3,500 nautical miles, this surface drone enables long-duration missions with a high level of precision. The DriX O-16 is integrated into an operational model based on remote supervision, with a remote operations center established in Singapore.
Cost and Environmental Benefits
Traditionally, survey operations are carried out by large crewed ships that are expensive to operate and consume significant amounts of energy and maintenance. Using the DriX O-16 allows these missions to be carried out with an autonomous solution, potentially reducing the carbon footprint of operations by up to 99%, while minimizing human exposure at sea and optimizing operational costs.
Market Dynamics and Company Profile
This new order highlights the dynamics of the civilian surface drone market, now used to complement or replace certain missions traditionally performed by ships in maritime operations. Exail Technologies, listed on Euronext Paris (compartment B, ticker EXA), specializes in autonomous robotics and navigation systems, with strong vertical integration of its business lines.
