Forvia Hella secures two series orders for its EnergyCore solutions
The electronics and lighting subsidiary of Forvia announced on October 8, 2026 two series orders from international automakers, in the Americas and Europe. They concern its EnergyCore range, which combines battery management and power electronics in a single product.
A first high-voltage 3-in-1 system and a 48-volt PowerPack
Forvia Hella, a listed company of the Forvia group, has received two series orders for integrated solutions from its EnergyCore range. The first concerns its first high-voltage battery management system called "3-in-1", the second a 48-volt PowerPack.
The systems will be supplied to two distinct international automakers, one on the American continent, the other in Europe. The group also recalled that Forvia Hella had already been selected to develop and manufacture a 12-volt lithium-ion battery pack in China.

The cumulative order volume from both customers is, according to the press release, in the middle of the range of hundreds of millions of euros.
The start of series production is scheduled for December 2027 and spring 2028 respectively.
Fewer components and an ASIL-D+ safety level targeted
The 3-in-1 system combines in a single unit the battery management module (BMU), cell measurement units (CMU) and the junction box (BJB). According to the company, this architecture enables direct control of high-voltage current flow between the battery and the vehicle and reduces the number of CMUs needed, thereby reducing wiring, space, weight and costs. Designed initially for large full hybrid vehicles, the concept can also be applied to fully electric vehicles.
The 48-volt PowerPack combines a low-voltage DC/DC converter and a low-voltage battery management system. Installed as a supplement to the 12-volt battery on hybrid vehicles, it ensures in particular energy recovery and engine coasting with the thermal engine off. Its safety and diagnostic mechanisms enable it to meet ASIL-D+ requirements, beyond ASIL-B level protection concepts.
These orders are part of the group's IGNITE strategy, which aims to evolve Forvia Hella from a supplier of battery components and power electronics to integrated system solutions. For Peter Laier, chief executive officer of Forvia Hella, they represent a "significant extension" of the portfolio and an "important validation" of this strategy.
