Forvia share erases entire rebound and declines 4.5%
The automotive supplier posts a sharp decline on Monday in an already pressured Paris market, as the VIX surges nearly 14% and central banks enter a week of crucial monetary decisions. The pullback erases much of the rebound recorded the previous week, pushing the stock back toward its twenty-day moving average.
A 4.34% decline that places Forvia among the steepest declines in the SBF 120
Forvia loses 4.34% to €9.17 during the session, ranking among the steepest declines in the SBF 120 where the average decline stands at around 0.84%. The share had nevertheless just come out of a remarkable bullish episode: the gain of over 11% in one week, recorded during the course of last week, had even seen the price breach the resistance level at €9.93. This breakthrough proved short-lived: on Friday, the share had already fallen and closed at the bottom of the SBF 120 rankings. Over a seven-day rolling period, performance stands at -7.63%, a sign that last week's bullish sequence has been entirely erased.
Over one year, the decline reaches 17.28%, illustrating persistent structural pressure on the security. The macro context of the day does not help: the CAC 40 loses 0.86% during the session, while the VIX climbs nearly 14%, reflecting a general increase in nervousness ahead of the Fed meeting (Wednesday), the Bank of England meeting (Thursday) and the Bank of Japan meeting (Friday). Additionally, Brent exceeds $107 per barrel this morning, up 2.81%, additional pressure on costs for an automotive supplier whose margins remain sensitive to the energy environment.
The MA20 near the price level, net short positions still elevated at 3.82%
The price of €9.17 is practically at the level of the twenty-day moving average (MA20 at €9.18, difference of -0.07%), which constitutes a threshold to watch for short-term momentum. It remains nevertheless above the MA50 at €9.10, with a difference of +0.81%, which preserves a short-term technical floor. The MA200 at €10.99 remains well above (difference of -16.52%), confirming that the underlying trend remains bearish. The RSI at 56 indicates a neutral configuration, with neither oversold nor overbought signals, which does not provide clear guidance on the next direction.
The resistance at €9.93 (recently tested and rejected) remains the immediate obstacle in case of a rebound, while the support at €8.60 constitutes the reference floor in case of continued decline. Regarding short positions, four funds combine 3.82% of capital sold short according to filed declarations, down 0.64 points over thirty days (versus 4.46% one month ago). This level remains high and testifies to an institutional bearish positioning still present on the security, even though the recent trend is toward a reduction of these bets. The support at €8.60 remains the reference level to watch at the lower end of the range if selling pressure were to intensify.
