Genfit shares: among the sharpest declines on the SBF 120, down 38% in one month
The Lille-based biotech company specializing in hepatic and metabolic diseases is declining again in mid-session, while the Paris market is rising slightly. This session adds to a correction of rare magnitude, initiated several weeks ago.
A drop of 37.9% in one month, far from moving averages
The stock is down 3.8% to 8.09 €, placing it at the bottom of the SBF 120 alongside Medincell, which is declining by 5.2%, while the index gains 0.28%. The decline reaches 37.9% over one month and 41.1% over three months, although the stock was still up 116% over one year. The price is now below the 20-day moving average (9.86 €, gap of -17.95%) as well as below the 200-day moving average (9.65 €, gap of -16.17%), and is approaching the support level at 8.28 €. The RSI at 29 reflects buyer exhaustion over recent weeks, following a brief 4% uptick on Monday.
Short sales reach 2.21% of capital
Three funds cumulatively hold 2.21% of capital sold short, according to filed declarations, the latest dated October 7. This level shows sharp progression over thirty days: it signals institutional investors positioned for a downside or seeking to hedge an exposure, without allowing for conclusions of widespread loss of confidence. The company published on September 28 its first-half results, with cash reserves of 113.8 M€ and Iqirvo royalties up sharply, but net losses widened to 26.1 M€. The support level at 8.28 € is the level that the price is most likely to test if the decline continues.
