IDS Acquires SIG Carto Services and Expands into Burgundy and Gironde
The Euronext Access-listed company has added to its cartographic reliability division a company specializing in geographic information systems. The transaction opens new territories to the group, particularly in Burgundy and Gironde, and is accompanied by the entry of the target's founder into the capital and management of the group.
An Acquisition Focused on Cartographic Data Reliability
IDS (Euronext Access, ticker MLIDS) announced on October 12, 2026 the acquisition of SIG Carto Services. The acquired company was founded in 2011 by Bertrand Piffard. Its activity focuses on cartographic data reliability and geographic information systems.
The combination is part of IDS's cartographic reliability division, which the transaction strengthens. According to the group, this acquisition consolidates its capabilities in its historical markets, meaning in business sectors it was already operating in prior to the transaction.
The second stated objective is geographic. IDS indicates that the integration of SIG Carto Services extends its presence across the territory, notably citing Burgundy and Gironde. The transaction thus responds to a logic of complementarity both in terms of business lines and regions.
First Contract Won Together with Enedis
The combination produced a first commercial result even before its legal completion. IDS and SIG Carto Services jointly won a cartographic services contract for Enedis, before the finalization of the transaction.
This contract is presented by the group as the first concrete synergy between the two entities. It illustrates the ability of the two teams to respond together to a call for proposals, by combining their expertise over the same scope of services.
SIG Carto Services' Founder Joins IDS Management and Capital
Bertrand Piffard joins IDS's management team. He takes on the position of director of office cartographic reliability activities.
The founder of SIG Carto Services also becomes a shareholder of the group. This dual role, both operational and capital-based, directly associates him with the integration of the company he created into IDS.
