KBC Group: Kris Vervaet Appointed as Chief Information Officer, Replacing Erik Luts

Erik Luts to Step Down After a Career Defined by Digital Transformation
Erik Luts will end his tenure as CIO of KBC Group on August 31, 2026. Having joined the bank in 1988, he was instrumental in the development of digital channels, payment solutions, and the Isabel platform, which has become a standard for business clients. Since 2017, he has served as Chief Innovation Officer on the executive committee, responsible for digital transformation, IT, innovation, and shared services. Koenraad Debackere, chairman of the board, praised his "lasting and significant contribution" to KBC's development as a "digital leader".

Supervised Transition Subject to Regulatory Approval
The appointment of Kris Vervaet is subject to approval by the European Central Bank and the National Bank of Belgium. In the months leading up to his official start on September 1, Vervaet will work alongside Luts to ensure continuity of operations.
