Kering among the biggest decliners in the CAC 40, down 11.5% in one month
The luxury group that owns Gucci and Saint Laurent falls sharply at midday, in a Paris market also trending lower. The stock trades well below its levels of a few months ago, and the appointment of a new creative director at Balenciaga does not change the day's trend.
A 3% decline places Kering among the biggest decliners in the CAC 40
Kering shares lose 3.05% to €184.80 intraday. The stock is second-to-last in the CAC 40, ahead of only Capgemini, while the Paris index falls 1.43%. The move comes in a session dominated by the correction in artificial intelligence-related stocks.
The Nasdaq dropped 5.52% on Thursday and the Nikkei fell 5.96% this morning. Kering does not belong to this sector, and no direct link to this movement has been established.
After a rebound of nearly 5% over seven days, the stock is falling again and remains down 11.7% over one month. It is still far from its level of one year ago, down 38.7%.
On the appointments front, the group announced this Friday that Martine Rose will take over as creative director of Balenciaga on November 16, 2026, in Paris.
The share price falls back below its 20-day moving average (MM20) at €196.23 and moves away from its 50-day moving average (MM50)
After this week's rebound, the stock falls back below its MM20, at €196.23, a gap of 5.82%. The MM50, at €216.66, sits 14.71% above the price, which shows that the recovery remains limited compared with the slope of the past few months.
The RSI at 36 is close to the oversold zone without having reached it. The nearest support is at €176.28, about 4.6% below the current price, while resistance stands at €228.20. This €176.28 support is the level the stock will need to defend in the coming sessions.
