Laggard of the CAC 40, Schneider Electric share pays the price for PTC acquisition
The equipment manufacturer from Rueil-Malmaison's stock finishes at the bottom of the Paris index, while the market advances. Two brokerage firms revise their opinion downward, two days after the announcement of a major acquisition.
Two analyst revisions bring the stock below its 200-day moving average
The Schneider Electric share loses 3.34% to €263.70 in trading, the last value in the CAC 40, while the index gains 0.75%. The decline extends a movement that began on Monday: the stock has fallen 9.23% over a week and finds itself 1.27% below its 200-day MA, at €267.08, after having evolved above it for a long time. Two analyst opinions dated today accompany the decline.
JP Morgan moved from overweight to neutral and reduced its target from €345 to €310. Vertical Research Partners, which had no previous recorded opinion, recommends "hold" with a target of €265, nearly at the current price level.

These revisions come after the agreement signed on Monday to acquire PTC for approximately 22 billion euros. The operation will be financed in cash, through debt and a capital increase. The group also plans a pause in its share buybacks in 2027 and 2028.
During the publication of its H1 2026 results on July 31, Schneider Electric had raised its full-year target, relying on an order book at a record level. On the technical side, the support at €272.05 has given way, and the RSI at 40 remains in neutral territory.
