Lisi Shares Retreat After a 76% Rally Over a Year
The aerospace and automotive equipment manufacturer takes a new pause as the market approaches closing. The stock is pulling back in a heavily shaken Parisian market due to the new military escalation in the Middle East, after a spectacular rally in recent months.
A Measured Pullback After an Extraordinary Three-Month Stock Performance
Lisi shares lose 1.75% at €67.40, while the SBF 120 drops by 2.03% and the CAC 40 by 2.07%. The stock is thus performing better than its index in a session weighed down by American strikes against Iran and Tehran's claimed retaliation against military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The VIX jumps by 11.3% to 17.95, reflecting a sharp increase in risk aversion on global markets.
Despite this pullback, the stock's performance remains impressive: nearly 25% over three months and 76% over a year. The ongoing consolidation is thus minor in light of the progress made since spring, with the equipment manufacturer having set several absolute records in late June and early July, including a high at €71.70.
The Stock Revisits its 20-Day Moving Average After Breaking its Record at €71.70
At €67.40, the price leans on its 20-day moving average (€67.26), a key technical level after several weeks of acceleration. The stock remains well above its 50-day moving average (€65.60) and maintains a nearly 21% gap with its 200-day moving average (€55.73), indicating that the underlying bullish trend is not in question. The RSI at 58 takes a breath without slipping into a weakness zone, while the MACD remains positive at 1.16, above its signal line.
The support at €62.90 is identified as the next support zone in case the pullback extends, while the resistance at €71.70 (the recent record) caps the upside. The session illustrates the renewed sensitivity of French industrial stocks to the geopolitical context, after several weeks of buying flows in the aerospace sector.
