Michelin Completes Acquisition of Tex Tech Industries, Generating $128M in Revenue in 2025
Michelin finalized the acquisition of Tex Tech Industries, an American specialist in technical textiles and coated fabrics for critical applications, on Wednesday after receiving all regulatory approvals. This cash-funded operation represents the third major acquisition for the group in its Polymer Composite Solutions division since the start of the year.

Founded in 1904 in Maine, Tex Tech Industries designs and manufactures specialized textile products and coated fabrics for a variety of sectors and demanding niche applications. The company has developed solutions for critical areas: thermal protection systems for space vehicles, fireproof materials for aircraft fuselages, fire-resistant textiles for airplane seats, and custom fabrics for composite applications. Tex Tech employs 300 staff and operates six factories (five in the United States and one in the United Kingdom). In 2025, the company recorded revenues of $128 million.

Tex Tech represents the third major external growth operation carried out by Michelin in its Polymer Composite Solutions division in 2026. The group had previously acquired Cooley in January and Flexitallic in April. All these acquisitions are part of a strategy to consolidate the composite solutions portfolio of the Clermont-based manufacturer.

Le chiffre d'affaires semestriel atteint 12,7 milliards d'euros, en repli de 2,6 % en publié mais en hausse de 0,5 % à taux de change constants, l'effet devise pesant pour -3,1 %. Le résultat opérationnel des secteurs s'élève à 1,45 milliard d'euros (marge de 11,4 % contre 11,1 % au premier semestre 2025), en progression de 103 M€ (+7 %) à périmètre et parités constants. Le cash-flow libre avant M&A ressort à +282 M€ contre -102 M€ un an plus tôt. Par segment : Consommateur 6 926 M€ (marge 12,5 %), Transport 2 813 M€ (marge 5,9 %), Spécialités 2 220 M€ (marge 14,1 %), Polymer Composite Solutions 728 M€ (+14 %, marge 13,6 %). Le ratio d'endettement net s'établit à 26 %.
