Nexans share rebounds 2.5% and breaks back above its three moving averages
The Courbevoie-based cabling company is regaining momentum on Thursday, contrary to a broadly declining European market. This rebound follows the announcement the previous day of a €500 million bond issue intended to refinance the Republic Wire acquisition, and puts the stock back above its three moving averages.
A rebound that lifts the share back above its key moving averages
Nexans gains 2.74% during the session at €142.30, ranking among the strongest gainers in the SBF 120, while the index only advances 0.16%. The share breaks back above its 20-day MA at €139.93, which it had fallen below the previous day, with a margin of 1.69% above this average. It also maintains a comfortable lead over its 50-day MA at €136.72 (margin of 4.08%) and over its 200-day MA at €135.71 (margin of 4.86%), marking a clear improvement compared to Wednesday's configuration.
The RSI at 49 remains in neutral territory, without any overbought signal, which leaves room before reaching the resistance identified at €144.70, a level already tested in late August before being lost. The support at €128.60 remains well below the current price.
The €500M bond issue completes the financing of Republic Wire
The rebound is supported by the €500 million bond issue at 4.25% announced on September 9, which replaces the bridge loan used to finance the Republic Wire acquisition. This operation completes the financing component of an acquisition presented during the Q1 2026 results (published on April 28, 2026) as a lever to broaden the group's industrial footprint in North America. The macroeconomic context of the day is not without indirect impact: the ECB is expected to raise its key rate by 25 basis points at its meeting this Thursday, fueling a rise in credit costs in the eurozone.
The bond operation, completed before this decision, allowed Nexans to secure its financing terms at a fixed rate. The resistance at €144.70 now represents the immediate technical obstacle, less than 1.7% away from the current price.
