Aurelis for Data Centers is a PON (Passive Optical Network) based optical solution designed to establish critical out-of-band management functions in data centers. According to Nokia, the solution reduces the number of active switches by 90%, enhances spatial efficiency, cuts energy consumption by 50% or more, and simplifies operational efforts by 80%. The PON optical switch provides six nines availability and can connect and manage thousands of endpoints from a single platform. The traditional architecture that relies on dedicated switches per bay creates unnecessary complexity while increasing energy and cooling demands.

The solution incorporates zero-touch provisioning and offers remotely manageable plug-and-play optical modems.
